Visiting Exchange Students

An integral part of the campus community, Washington College welcomes students from all over the world. Washington College currently has 29 international partner institutions in 22 countries. Students have the option to study for one or two semesters. Students from select institutions can also apply as language assistants in the Department of World Languages & Cultures.

If you are interested in doing an exchange at Washington College, please meet with your institution's exchange program advisor prior to starting the application and enrollment process. 

Interested in Studying at WC? Follow these 3 Steps!

Meet with your home university’s international exchange/study abroad office and let them know you are interested in studying at Washington College and to verify that Washington College partners with your institution.

 Eligibility requirements:

  • Cumulative GPA of 3.0/4.0
  • Non-native English speakers must provide one of the following language Minimum scores:

Once you are approved by your institution to study at Washington College, please complete our online application: http://washcollgeo.formstack.com/forms/exchange_app 

The application will ask for you to upload the following: 

  • Letter of Recommendation (scan)
  • WC’s Financial Certification Form
  • Essay/Personal Statement
  • Passport Page (scan)
  • Official Transcript from home university (scan)
  • Language Testing Scores (See step one for accepted tests) (if applicable)

Application Deadlines:

Spring : September 15th 
Fall and Year-long: March 25th

You can expect to hear back from the Global Education Office (GEO) Team within 4 weeks of submitting your completed application. 

Language Assistants 

Washington College hires exchange students from select partner institutions to serve as language assistants during their time at Washington College.
